Honda has confirmed that the new Crosstour will not be available with any major altercations like its current model and that all its changes and refreshments are set only to give the 2015 Honda Crosstour a mild facelift. Its engine, transmission and systems shall all be adopted from the 2014 model. The only new thing in this new release is that it’s going to be more fuel economic and shall have a well reduced CO2 emissions.
2015 Honda Crosstour Design
The 2015 Honda – Crosstour will come with a unique combination of provision of premium features, handling and convenience. This model is set to set an impressive standard to its segment with its available standards like the top-level model.
Its models the EX and the EXL will be presented with a larger wheelbase and shall be fitted with large-17inch wheels (alloy) while the EX-V6 model and the EX-L V6 model shall have 18inch alloy-wheels. The new 2015 Crosstour will come with newly designed chrome grille and front-bumper that will have a close resemblance to that of the current model.
With its new standard features, this model has had its interior, upgraded with improved with better designs and styling, with the use of quality materials. Another improved feature on the 2015 Crosstour is its gearbox and this model shall now be available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox and shall have shift controls, fixed to its steering wheel for those models that will be fitted with a V6 engine. Other options that are featured I this 2015 model are; the acute angle display technology and the Honda-lane watch which will alert the driver when he’s leaving his lane.
All the 2015 Crosstour models shall be equipped with Bluetooth-for better connectivity, rear cameras and many other –advanced technologies.
Under the Performance
The new 2015 Honda –Crosstour shall share the same performance platform with the Honda accord models, thus giving this SUV an option of 2 excellent engines.
The –EX and the EX-L models shall be powered by the 2.4l –DOHC i-VTEC 16-valves 4-cylinder engine, which will be mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox for its 2WD model and shall deliver up to 192hp at 7,000rpm and 162 pound feet of torque at 4000rpm.
The EX and the EX-l V6 models shall be powered by the 3.5l SOHC i-VTEC 24 valves 4cylinder gas engine which shall be paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and shall be available in 2WDrpm.
Only the – EX-L V6 model will have the 4WD option. It will be fitted with the 3.5l SOHC engine a shall deliver up to 278hp at 6,200rpm and 252lb-of feet at 4,900.
Models with the 2.4l power unit have an EPA rating of 22,31mpg city/highway while those riding on the 2WD with the larger 3.5l engine have an EPA rating of 20,30mpg city/highway and the 4WD EX-L model achieved a rating of 19mpg and 28mpg city/highway.
2015 Honda Crosstour Price and release date
This new 2015 Crosstour model is set to be released in the last quarter of 2014 and its base model –the EX models- will retail at a base price of $27,380 and the higher trims shall sell at $37,240 with the 4WD model set to cost slightly more.
