2015 Nissan Pulsar Review and Price

2015 Nissan Pulsar returned to the market after few years of absence. 2015 Nissan Pulsar Engine range and Trims

While hatchback is offered in four trim levels (ST, ST-L, ST-S and SSS), sedan comes with three distinctive grades (ST, ST-L and Ti). Differences betwen the models are in their specifications which depend on a market in which they feature. Sedan version, coded as B17 is very similar to Asian-market hatch, badged as C12. New Euro-market hatch, however is specifically designed to match these markets’ traditions and carries a code C13. As far as powertrain is concerned, all Oz sedans and first two hatch models share the same 1.8L I4 engine which delivers 129 hp and 128 lb-ft of torque. Sportier ST-S and SSS hatchbacks feature 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder with 188 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. European models will initially be offered with 1.2L turbocharged 4-cylinder that has 109 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, and with a 1.5L turbo diesel 4-cylinder engine, while later versions will get the same 1.6L turbocharger found in Aussie models.

Styling – Outside and Inside look

Differences between the models are evident even between Australian hatch and sedan, let alone between them and European model. Australian-market models have different grilles, headlights and tail-lights, but share interior features more or less. European hatch also has different exterior layout and is a little bit longer than its sibling from Oz.

Dashboard is mostly made of plastic with some soft touches that can also be seen around the cabin. Infotainment comes in the form of NissanConnect with a touch screen display. Safety features include a standard set of airbags, vehicle dynamic and traction controls, ABS with brake assist and optional rearview camera, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, forward emergency braking and moving object detection.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel economy ratings are the same on both hatches and sedans, if the powertrain is the same, that is. Best numbers of 33 mpg in the city and 35mpg on the highway can be had with the base engine. Turbocharged engine in sport models consumes more and returns 31/30 mpg.
