Sporty Design – Outside and Inside look
Ever since it first arrived, DB9 was dubbed as one of the most handsome cars around. 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT won’t change that perception about itself. Aston Martin’s trademark grille will remain unchanged up front, together with gaping lower air intake. Modern headlights are still in front of the flared wheel arches, and GT version offers a few smaller air intakes behind them and upon the hood.Rear end is still generally sharper affair than the front one, while midsection reveals 20-inch ten-spoke alloy wheels and perfectly arching roofline.
But that’s not all. 2016 year models will offer an additional treat for their admirers. DB9 GT will also be offered as a special James Bond edition which comes exclusively with silver graphite paint job.
Interior has always been Aston Martin DB9’s strong point as well. British maker doesn’t build their cars cheap, and DB9 certainly looks like one of the most expensive ones. Wide range of leather options are available in many different color schemes, but unlike most luxury cars, DB9 doesn’t put emphasis on interior accents. There’s very little wood, aluminum or carbon available inside, but everything else is soft, carpeted or leather-bound.
Dashboard features slightly unconventional design with plenty of well-organized controls and a touch screen display which pops out from its top. There’s a number of available features that are offered with the car, and they range from premium sound system, over advanced connectivity systems to unique trims.
There are a few safety features included in the package as well. Apart from all mandatory options, 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT comes with a rearview camera, blind-spot monitors, rear cross-traffic alerts, lane departure warning, parking assist and forward collision warning.
2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT Price
No one aiming to buy 2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT will trouble himself with car’s low fuel efficiency numbers. Even though its combined figures end up in teens, no one had actually expected much better from the V-12 engine anyway. Unlike the regular models which are available for less than $200,000, DB9 GT starts from from just above that mark.
Bond Edition of the GT costs exactly $237,007, and these last three digits aren’t there by accident. Even though the car is much more expensive in this form, at least you get $7,350 worth of Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “James Bond Limited Edition” watch which goes with it.
2016 Aston Martin DB9 GT is the fastest street-legal DB9 currently offered and there won’t be any more of them made since grand tourer heads towards well-earned retirement. Luxury car doesn’t only offer premium refinement, but great performance as well. After all, James Bond doesn’t ride with just about anything.
The 2015 Ferrari California T and 2016 Bentley Continental GT are the key opponents.
