The top of the range model on the other hand is available with a 2 liter EcoBoost inline 4 with 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque which also happens to be one of the most powerful engines in its class. A 6 speed manual is available on the lower end models while the top tier levels and the 2 liter engine come equipped with a 6 speed automatic. In any case though, front wheel drive is standard while all wheel drive is only available as an option.

The CR-V looks completely different than the Ford which is great for everyone because it means customers have a nice alternative to the Ford. However, it is a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated, direct injected inline 4 which is more than enough for this car. The engine is capable of 184 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque and it can be had with front or all wheel drive.

The only transmission of choice is a CVT which is much better than the average and thanks to it, the CR-V can return up to 27 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway which is actually even better than the 1.6 liter engine of the Escape. The downside is that the gearbox is quite slow and the engine is not as potent as the 2 liter version of the Escape.
