2017 Bugatti Chiron – debut at next Geneva

French automaker has officially confirmed, the upcoming 2017 Bugatti Chiron will have a premiere at the next Geneva Motor Show, next year. The Veyron has been around for a long time and despite being made in only 450 units, everyone has heard about it as being the fastest production car in the World. Well, Bugatti is set on making a worthy successor for the Veyron and this may be launched sooner than expected.

The 2017 Bugatti Chiron is expected to launch at Geneva in 2016 when it will be showcased. After that, it should be ready for the market quite soon but unlike the Veyron, it may only be offered on an invitation system which will make it even more exclusive than its predecessor.

What’s New for 2017?

Unlike what most other manufacturers are doing, the Chiron will actually be an evolution of the Veyron which means it will use an upgraded carbon fiber chassis as well as a similar layout of the engine. However, the exterior design as well as the interior will completely change but the car will keep its capabilities unchanged.

This means that it will allow its driver to get at massive speeds without any drama, the true main selling point of the car. Just like before, it will still be sold at a loss which makes it one of a king in this regard. However, Bugatti will likely be able to keep that loss to a minimum after the advancements in technology they did over the years.

The Engine & Spirited Performance

In terms of engine, the 2017 Bugatti Chiron will be using a similar 8 liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine to the Veyron. This time around though, it will make upwards of 1,500 horsepower and 1,100 lb-ft of torque which will make it the most powerful production model. This will be possible thanks to the four turbochargers, two of which will get electric aids.

This means that the car will have little to no lag at all which should mean that it will be able to get to 60 MPH in around 2.5 seconds, to 200 MPH in less than 12 seconds and up to a maximum top speed of well over 288 MPH. Some people even say that Bugatti is actually aiming to break the 300 MPH record for a production car, but this would be a bit harder than it seems.

In order to put all that power to the ground, the car will get a redesigned gearbox which will likely be built in cooperation with Ricardo. This will drive all four wheels via a torque vectoring system which will allow the car to be as nimble as any other sports car around a track.

Refined Interior

The interior will be vastly upgraded over the current Veyron which is a bit lacking in terms of technology. The Chiron will likely feature a large screen instead of a regular instrument cluster, more premium materials than before as well as a slightly more spacious and comfortable interior. VW’s current infotainment and navigation unit will likely be used on this car as well but this time around it will receive an upgraded interface.

Aggressive, Inspired Design

The exterior of the 2017 Bugatti Chiron has been under wraps for a long time now but not too long ago it has been spied with very little camouflage on it and the end result is actually surprising. Instead of looking completely different, the car is using the old Veyron body with upgrades made to it. This means that the front end now borrows from the Vision GT concept car Bugatti showcased earlier this year with the quad-headlights design as well as a more aggressive front bumper which may be there in order to offer more downforce at the speeds it is capable of.

2017 Bugatti Chiron Price

The introduction price of the Chiron has been set at over $2,5 million which easily makes it the most expensive production vehicle out there.

The biggest competitors are McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari, an actual F-18.
