When it comes to minivans, it seems that they are becoming less and less popular and overall demands for this type of vehicles seems to be lower in last couple of years. However, there is a good reason for that – they are being replaced by smaller crossovers that are similar in size and in price range. The American manufacturer have decided to offer less minivans, but Chrysler is among those that think that there is still customers for these cars.
The 2017 Chrysler Town & Country minivan is set to go on sale later this year and it will be the only minivan to compete with Kia Sedona, Nissan Quest, Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey.
Refreshed Design – Exterior & Interior
At this moment, there are no official images of the upcoming 2017 Chrysler Town & Country, however, there are lots of spy shots that show this model in the testing phase. The images show the new Town & Country much lower than the current model, which is a sure sign that it will be based on a new platform, but not yet known which one exactly. The interesting thing is that the spy shots reveal that the new 2017 Chrysler Town & Country has a roof line that is very similar to those that crossovers have – which could mean that the new model will be in between of a minivan and a crossover.
Unfortunately, spy shots do not reveal anything about the design details, but the reports that have been published on the Web suggest that the new 2017 Chrysler Town & Country will have a subtle design that will enable it to fit in the current line up of the American manufacturer perfectly. Furthermore, it is expected that Chrysler is going to offer this minivan with many different trim levels.
One of the spy shots that were published online shows the interior of the new 2017 Chrysler Town & Country and it seems to be very similar to the one that is currently used in the Dodge Durango – like the center stack, steering wheel and the digital gauge cluster. However, experts believe that even though this design will be used, all elements should be refreshed for the new 2017 Chrysler Town & Country.
There are going to be more safety features offered with the new Town & Country – like ESP, ABS, lane departure warning, electronic stability system and rear view camera.
