The original Huayra has been named in numerous occasions as one of the most beautiful cars ever made with its hand-crafted interior and its gorgeous exterior. However, despite its massive price-tag and very powerful engine, the car has not been the fastest in its class even though it managed to be faster than some of its more powerful competitors.
In order to retain its credibility as a hyper-car builder and to give their customers something a bit more impressive than the Huayra, Pagani will build 20 units of their upcoming vehicle, the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC, a car which is currently under development but which has been spied with no camouflage on it a few days ago.
The Engine range & Performance
So far we don’t have any official information if it will be a track-only car or a road-going version of it but considering the camouflaged model has been spied testing on the open road a couple of times, it is safe to assume that it will be legal to drive it on public roads. So far, the engine that will power the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC is still a mystery mostly because Pagani’s contract with AMG has ended and AMG doesn’t have to supply them with the old engines.
However, we are pretty sure that the BC will be powered by a new version of the same 6 liter twin-turbocharged V12 of the Huayra. This time around, the engine could make as much as 800 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque which would make it the most powerful rear-wheel driven car in the World that is not a hybrid. The engine will likely be mated to a similar 7 speed sequential gearbox to the older model but this time around it might be tweaked to change gears a bit faster.
The official performance levels are still under wraps but considering this is the lightweight version of the car that will likely weigh well under 3,000 pounds, it is safe to assume that it will hit 60 MPH in less than 2.5 seconds and it will be able to hit as much as 230 MPH with ease.
More aggressive style & Changes
The top speed will likely be limited by its new aerodynamic body-kit which will be a lot more different than before. In fact, the new body-kit will use fixed carbon fiber parts such as a larger front splitter, a larger rear diffuser, a massive fixed wing in the back as well as new side-skirts and air-intakes. All of these should make a lot more downforce than before and on top of that, the car will lose a lot of weight thanks to the removal of the older hydraulic and electric motors that were powering the active aerodynamics of the car.
Inside the cabin, the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC is expected to feature a very impressive interior despite the fact it will be the lightweight version of the car. From the prototype we’ve seen on the road we can assume that the production model will feature similar racing seats with harnesses but the dashboard should be similar, or identical, to the current model. The instrument cluster of the car on the other hand should be replaced by a racing-spec display which will provide the driver all the information it needs.
2017 Pagani Huayra BC Price
While the successor of the original will be released at a later date, the BC is the high performance track-version of the car which is expected to be bought by people who already own a normal Huayra. The price will be set at just over $2,7 million, making it the most expensive production car when it will launch.
In fact, the price will be nearly $500,000 more than that of the Bugatti Chiron which is very impressive to say the least. The car will first be revealed at Geneva and most likely it has already been sold-out by Pagani.
But, one of the biggest disadvantages is price, new Huayra is very expensive. Besides this, according to the reports, a production will be limited.
