2018 Bentley Continental GT – after a lot of rumors, new British car will be four-door coupe, based on MBS platform. Ever since it came on the market, Bentley Continental GT has been a resounding success, and there is little doubt that the 2018 version will be any different. Since the vehicle changed relatively little all these years, it was in dire need of some tweaking, and Bentley engineers were eager to get to work. The updates made in the 2016 version should be extended on in the 2018, making it almost like a new car already.
We are still years ahead of any official releases on this vehicle, let alone its debut, there have been some renderings that give us a good idea as to what the new Continental GT will look like.
Four-door Coupe – Exterior & Inside
One of the biggest changes is the all-new platform, named MBS, thanks to this, new Continental will lose up to 990 lbs (450 kg). The exact exterior of the 2018 Bentley Continental GT is unknown, as it is still at the concept stage. It should continue the process started by its predecessors, with updated body lines that give it a more stylish look, and the fascia to match. Lights and the rear fascia should also be updated, but as to how this will be done, we will have to wait and see.

The interior of the 2018 Bentley Continental GT is expected to follow cues set by the previous versions. It will most likely keep the dual-brow instrument panel design. The leather on the seats will most likely remain quilted, as will on the door panels, giving the 2018 version a stylish and elegant feel. There should be ample space for head and legs, and there will be an interesting central display screen, unlike anything we’ve seen on the previous models.
The gauge cluster is now digital, and numerous interior elements have been brought up to speed with current trends. The steering wheel is three-spoke, and built with reliability and aesthetics in mind.
Under the Hood & Specs
According to recent rumors, the 2018 Bentley Continental GT will bring a welcome addition to the engine department. The platform is rumored to be similar to that on the new Porsche Panamera. The new 2018 Bentley Continental GT will most likely to use all-new 6.0-liter twin-turbo W-12, although this is a base version, and other engines are in the making, although the information on those is scarce. Also, there is no officialy information about output, but it likely to be around 600 hp.
There are even rumors about a plug-in hybrid version, but don’t give them credence just yet. Besides this, some reports speculate that diesel engine won’t be in offer. The transmission is still a mystery, as is the fuel consumption and other specs, as even the basic engine will likely get tweaked in the meantime. All we can do is wait for more information to become available.
2018 Bentley Continental GT Release Date
One thing is for certain: the 2018 Bentley Continental GT won’t be around before 2017. But when it does, it will surely leave a mark on the scene and spawn a number of similar vehicles.
Considering the price of a current version of Bentley Continental, it should not surprise anyone if the 2018 version hits the $200,000 mark, and that is for the basic version. Naturally, it remains to be seen how close our prediction was.
